The idea that we need to change keyboard layout now that typing on a cramped touchscreen is becoming more and more everyday, is probably more potent than this idea itself.

I think its also important to compare a leap from QWERTY keyboards to this system, and other gesture based ones, to the jump from cursive via quill and ink, to punching the steel keys of a typewriter.

So far the house is red, and maybe-almost-the senate. Also, Californians managed to let Prop 19 fail, something I found as disappointing as it was predictable.
